Primary Cutting Geometries
1. Single-Cut
Single-cut rotary burrs feature parallel lines of teeth running diagonally across the cutting face in only one direction. This configuration is particularly suitable for processing soft non-ferrous metals, plastics, soft high-tensile steel, and hard wood. The single-cut pattern has a larger rake angle and larger chip clearance, making it less prone to chip clogging and ensuring efficient cutting on softer materials.
2. Double-Cut
Double-cut (or cross-cut) burrs feature two interlaced groups of cutting teeth that intersect each other. This pattern is more aggressive for material removal and produces less vibration during operation. Double-cut burrs are ideal for high cutting performance on hard materials such as cast iron, cast steel, and glass fiber plastic materials. They provide excellent surface processing quality with relatively high machining efficiency.
